The project overview

A website dedicated to the sanitary-transport ship «Armenia», which was lost during the last evacuation from the Crimea in 1941. The exact number of victims is still unknown.

The project received a presidential grant.

To date, more than 800 names have been collected so far.

Challenges

  • Task of the site: to tell the story of the ship, to collect the people’s list of the dead getting information from users, whose relatives or friends were on the ship during the evacuation. An admin panel has been created for users to add stories.
  • The project has received extensive media coverage, therefore a press section has been added with the necessary materials for a press release.
  • Also a donation service has been added.

Goals

Develop a style guide for a website using existing materials. Illustrate the timeline of sanitary ship to tell a story. Build an intuitive and flexible interface allowing to collect and gather data about victims. Illustrate clearly the progress through the interface. Provide an useful KB for press to store
